We are looking for an AI Agent and Application Development Manager to join our Information Technology (IT) Application Development team. This role is designed for a person with hands-on experience in application and AI agent development and automation, ready to assume a leadership role in service delivery and support developers and contractors.
The role involves advancing technical development, managing the delivery log, assigning work according to available capacity, supporting the integration and utilization of contractors, resolving issues, and helping progress solutions, from demand and design to deployment and updates.
What You Will Do
- Supervise developers and contractors in daily activities related to automation and AI agent and application development
- Maintain and prioritize development work, ensuring tasks are clear, organized, and assigned to the right technical leads
- Manage the capacity and availability of developers and contractors, including skill alignment, integration progress, forecasted demand, utilization, and service flow
- Guide the receipt, triage, and assignment of AI agent and application development, and Power solutions requests based on business value, complexity, risk, and available capacity
- Ensure technical oversight by reviewing approaches, dependencies, quality expectations, and release readiness with developers
- Collaborate with architects, security leads, infrastructure teams, product managers, stakeholders, and development teams to remove obstacles and maintain service flow
- Support agile routines, including delay reduction, planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, acceptance criteria, and release deliveries
- Oversee contractor activities, such as integration requests, work allocation, timesheet and invoice validation, budget execution rate, and expense visibility, in collaboration with internal teams
- Maintain minimal documentation on service delivery, transfers, and decisions to improve consistency, knowledge transfer, and support
- Identify recurring friction points and recommend practical improvements for solution requests, resource allocation, tracking, and communication
What You Bring to the Role
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in computer science, information technology, engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- Practical experience in enterprise application and AI agent development, intelligent automation, integrations, or Microsoft Power Platform solutions
- Experience in guiding developers, contractors, or technical delivery teams, staying close enough to the work to understand efforts, obstacles, and quality risks
- Strong knowledge of agile software delivery and delay management in a technical development environment
- Ability to translate operational needs into clear technical tasks and assist demand and design teams in deployment and updates
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including users, developers, architects, cybersecurity associates, and key stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple service priorities, balance capacity, and make practical compromises in a dynamic environment
- Comfort with ambiguity and willingness to take ownership of outcomes, unblock teams, and improve service practices
- Practical knowledge of AI agent and application development concepts, and experience in guiding developers and assessing service risks
- Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse, and associated service delivery practices
- Experience with AI agentic tools and generative AI capabilities such as Copilot Studio, Azure AI, Azure OpenAI, or similar platforms
- Understanding of integrations, APIs, SharePoint, ServiceNow, Moveworks Agent Studio, or comparable enterprise platforms
- Knowledge of agile delivery methods, DevOps fundamentals, delay management, testing expectations, and release readiness
- Ability to evaluate estimates, task sequencing, dependencies, risks, and compromises for AI agent and application development work
- Relevant Microsoft certifications (Azure, Power Platform, or AI-related) are considered an asset
This position requires proficiency in both written and spoken English. The selected candidate will need to support colleagues or other provincial stakeholders in English, or collaborate with them.
Salary Range – British Columbia
The base salary range for this position is $75,600 to $114,600, with potential for bonuses. A candidate's or candidate's compensation is determined based on their location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. In addition to compensation, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits program.
