About the position
Under the responsibility of the Engineering and Asset Management Supervisor, the Electrical Engineer for Plant Projects will primarily be involved in plant modifications.
You have a real commitment to health, safety and continuous improvement. As a Plant Projects Engineer, you manage and coordinate minor modification projects aimed at eliminating specific chronic issues in the plant or improving our processes. The position holder works with the Plant Projects Mechanical Engineer as well as with internal designers and external consultants as needed.
They may also be called upon to participate in major capital projects and may take on some key capital projects on occasion.
More specifically, the Plant Projects Engineer has the following responsibilities:
Pilot and prioritize plant modification requests: technical responsibility and project delivery (small/medium).
Manage complete engineering: need definition, scope, estimation, procurement, execution tracking, testing, commissioning, closure.
Propose appropriate technical solutions and produce/maintain key deliverables (drawings, work instructions, commissioning procedures and final documents).
Track budgets, manage suppliers/contractors and coordinate multi-disciplinary interfaces: operations, maintenance, production, electricity/automation, prevention.
In collaboration with the planner, ensure that maintenance plans for affected equipment are updated in SAP.
When required, provide support to the Reliability department or operations supervisors for difficult or recurring equipment breakdowns, emergencies or planned long shutdowns (shutdowns).
Ensure and promote compliance with SST rules on site (work permits, lifting permits, atmospheres, PPE).
Desired profile: The ideal candidate must: Hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering;
Be a member in good standing of the Order of Engineers of Quebec;
Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the electrical field in an industrial environment;
Favor teamwork and demonstrate initiative and autonomy;
Be proficient in the use of MS-Office suite software;
Have knowledge of SAP software (asset);
Be concerned about the respect of health and safety regulations in the workplace.
