Daily Production Planner

General Description of the Role

Production Planners are responsible for the planning and smooth running of the Production and deal quickly with any problems, such as a shortage of staff or materials and machinery breakdowns. Create and establish the Daily production planning to meet the daily production targets and customer demand based on the availability of materials and resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay in establishing, distributing, and managing Daily production plans and Weekly production targets in terms of a cost and unit basis, which is agreed with the Production director.
• Run & Analyze ERP/MRP and inventory movement reports ensuring availability of materials to support manufacturing requirements. And identify any shortages or bottlenecks in usage
• Interface with various other departments, including but not limited to Operations, Sales & Marketing, and Project Management
• Identify and assist in resolving conflicts with availability of capacity and assist on capacity transfers if necessary
• Generate reports on status update for management
• Work proactively daily, with Production Manager and Planning Department to ensure the Master and Production Schedule are broken down to an Assembly Line/hourly level and the coordination between the areas is done in a timely fashion so goals are met as planned.
• Produces and keeps updated the Daily Production Planning Schedule based on the readiness of materials and work content by job.
• Daily review of SO changes, priorities and timely adjustment of the Daily Production Schedule in coordination with Material Conveyance and Production.
• Communicates and coordinates with Lead Hands and Material Conveyance of different work centers regarding the following orders to produce. Ensuring timely materials and WIP delivery to the Assembly Lines.
• Gets hourly feedback from the “Production Planning Support Team” and analyze delays and interruptions in the Assembly Lines and accordingly adjust production schedule to meet deadlines. This might include reassigning different jobs to Assembly lines. All this is in coordination with Final Assembly Manager.
• According to Capacity planning (Weekly Scheduling Meeting), adjust and communicate the Daily Production Plan including the overtime needs to Machine Shop and Final Assembly Managers.
• Participate in efficiency and productivity improvement programs
• Other duties as assigned by his/her manager.

Education

Education in industrial engineering /supply chain management/ Operations Management. Technical certifications such as an APICS certification preferred (CPIM)

Experience

• 2-3 years of Manufacturing, Production management, or Production planning. Familiar with short interval shop floor scheduling and kitting that is characteristic of job shop manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of entire flow of production from kit pulling to processing finished goods.
• Sound knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures including manufacturing planning, demand, and replenishment processes.
• Software

MRP/ERP, APS, Python, Excel VBA, Excel and Power Point.

Skills

• Experience using statistical methods, the design of experiments, and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
• Effective written and Verbal communication; must have the ability to communicate at all levels.
• Attention to detail, good organizational skills.
• Can cope with a complex, high-volume, fast-paced, results-oriented environment with change of direction on short notice.
