Job Overview

As a Project Handover Manager, you will report directly to the Project Handover Manager and manage the District Handover SOP and associated Project Handover Plans. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that quality standards and procedures are disseminated and implemented throughout the company. You will conduct internal quality system audits, report on them, and assist with the general administration of the internal audit program.

District Overview

Eastern Canada District projects include highways, bridges, public transit, mining site development, open-pit mining operations, hydroelectric plants, wind farms, dams, and industrial facilities. They serve the construction and mining industries and operate in Eastern Canada.

Location

This position will be located in our Laval office. Candidates are expected to work in the office.

Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will be responsible, but not limited to, the following:
  • Documentation and File Management:
  • Review project documentation, including drawings, manuals, and specifications.
  • Coordinate and compile drawings and documents as executed.
  • Maintain records of modifications and deviations from original submissions.
  • Commissioning and Testing:
  • Supervise the management of the commissioning database to ensure system testing and operation.
  • Generate reports on the status of commissioning and pending items.
  • Work List Management:
  • Identify and document incomplete work or deficiencies.
  • Coordinate with operations to address work list items before handover.
  • Training and Knowledge Transfer:
  • Train operations and maintenance teams.
  • Ensure the team receives all project information.
  • Coordination and Communication:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between construction, subcontractors, and operations.
  • Facilitate clear communication among stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Above-average knowledge of handover software.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, welding technology, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role in construction.
  • Practical knowledge of quality control procedures related to construction activities is preferred.
  • Experience with Smart Completions software is a plus.
  • Ability to access all points of a site in various climates and environments.
  • Strong motivation, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and initiative.
  • Excellent work ethics, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity.
  • Passion for safety, with the ability to help ensure no one gets hurt.
