At Revau, we are transforming transport insurance through a modern, collaborative and innovative approach. We are looking for a Renewal Underwriter who is passionate about risk analysis, broker relationships and delivering effective underwriting solutions.
You will join a growing organization where your underwriting expertise will directly contribute to portfolio profitability, sound business decisions and exceptional service for our broker partners.
Reporting to the Transport Team Leader, you will be responsible for analyzing, evaluating and managing renewal risks submitted through our broker network. You will determine appropriate underwriting terms, pricing and recommendations while ensuring alignment with partner insurer guidelines and internal underwriting standards.
You will also act as a trusted advisor to colleagues and collaborate across teams to deliver tailored solutions and a high level of service to our brokers.
Key Responsibilities *Renewals*
- Underwrite and manage renewal business in accordance with program guidelines, carrier requirements and profitability objectives
- Analyze risks and determine appropriate terms, conditions, coverage and pricing
- Collaborate with underwriting teams to develop effective solutions for broker partners
- Review policy wording, contracts, coverage details and underwriting standards
- Ensure underwriting decisions align with contractual requirements and business objectives
- Obtain required approvals for referral files
- Clearly document underwriting decisions, including declinations when required
- *Endorsements*
- Review and process policy endorsement requests
- Determine applicable pricing for policy changes
- Ensure timely, accurate and professional service to brokers
What You Bring
- 1 year of Property & Casualty insurance experience, ideally with underwriting experience
- AEC, DEC in insurance or Insurance Broker Licence considered a strong asset
- CRM, PAA or FPAA designation considered an asset
- Strong analytical skills and sound underwriting judgment
- Solid technical knowledge of underwriting principles
- Excellent communication, collaboration and negotiation skills
- Strong organization and prioritization abilities
- Customer-focused with a solution-oriented mindset
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative and evolving environment
