We are seeking a highly qualified Senior Software Systems Developer to act as a technical expert within our application ecosystem. This role combines strong software engineering expertise with deep knowledge of technological platforms to support deployment success, validate production readiness, resolve version and deployment-related technical issues, and ensure critical systems are ready for a successful production launch.

The Senior Software Systems Engineer will work across the entire technology stack and collaborate closely with software development, QA, DevOps, infrastructure, product management, and customer support teams. This person will play a key role in production preparation, deployment execution, version validation, technical leadership, root cause analysis, and continuous platform improvement before and during production activities.

The ideal candidate possesses strong experience in Java and TypeScript development, good knowledge of cloud environments and networking, and a passion for solving complex technical challenges involving software, infrastructure, integrations, and real-world client environments.

Key Responsibilities

Software Engineering and Systems Engineering

• Act as a technical expert for the application platform and related systems.
• Provide primary technical leadership during deployments and production launches.
• Participate in software design discussions and architecture reviews.
• Collaborate with development teams to diagnose, debug, and resolve complex application issues.
• Analyze application code, services, APIs, and integrations to identify defects and performance bottlenecks.
• Develop and implement software enhancements, fixes, automation solutions, and tooling improvements as needed.
• Support testing, deployment validation, and production preparation activities.
• Version Preparation, Deployment, and Production Launch Leadership
• Serve as the technical lead during client implementations, deployments, and production launches.
• Ensure application and supporting services are ready for production.
• Coordinate deployment activities across multiple engineering teams.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with versions and platform changes.
• Serve as the primary technical escalation point during critical deployment, version validation, and production launch activities.

Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis

• Lead investigations into complex application and system issues.
• Analyze logs, metrics, traces, and monitoring data to identify root causes.
• Diagnose issues affecting software, infrastructure, networking, cloud services, and third-party integrations.
• Ensure rapid resolution of deployment-related issues, version validation findings, and critical issues identified during implementations and production launches.
• Participate in version retrospectives and recommend improvements to deployment processes, application preparation, and operational procedures.

Interfunctional Technical Leadership

• Collaborate with software development, DevOps, infrastructure, QA, product, and support teams.
• Coordinate efforts across multiple engineering teams to resolve complex technical challenges.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineers regarding debugging, troubleshooting, and system design.
• Advocate for improving platform reliability, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Contribute to establishing best practices in deployment, monitoring, and operational excellence.

Version Validation and Operational Readiness

• Validate application readiness before production deployment.
• Verify infrastructure, integrations, configurations, and dependencies related to deployments.
• Support version validation and production acceptance testing activities.
• Identify and document operational risks before client launch.
• Maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, and operational guides (runbooks).
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve deployment reliability and production quality.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, platform engineering, or a similar technical role.
• Strong experience in developing and supporting Java-based applications.
• Experience with TypeScript and modern web technologies.
• Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills in distributed systems.
• Experience in validating, deploying, troubleshooting, and supporting applications during production launches and rollout activities.
• Practical knowledge of AWS cloud services and modern cloud architectures.
• Good understanding of fundamental networking principles, APIs, service integrations, and application communication models.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes.
• Experience in analyzing logs, metrics, and monitoring data to resolve technical issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with VoIP, telecommunications, real-time communications, or public safety technology platforms.
• Experience with cloud-native or microservices-based architectures.
• Knowledge of observability and monitoring platforms.
• Experience with containerized environments and orchestration technologies.
• Demonstrated experience in leading production deployments, version preparation, client implementations, and production launches.
• Experience in mentoring developers or technical leadership across multiple teams.
