The Role
Under the responsibility of the Vice President - Finance and Administration, the Credit Director plays a key role in managing the financial risks related to the clients of the Cement division and the Materials division (Unibéton). He has the following responsibilities:
- Define the orientations and best practices in credit recovery;
- Ensure compliance with the credit department's policies and procedures and regulatory requirements;
- Supervise the credit team;
- Analyze account opening requests to determine and approve the credit limits for the Cement division;
- Prepare monthly credit reports and follow-up on indicators;
- Manage accounts receivable requiring special and specific treatments;
- Analyze special cases to present findings to the senior management;
- Supervise all activities related to guarantees, denunciations, and receipts for the Materials division;
- Collaborate with legal advisors for legal appeals (legal mortgages, notices, etc.);
- Collaborate with sales and billing teams for the divisions;
- Develop and implement mechanisms to optimize and automate business processes within the credit team.
Competencies and Requirements
- Have 5 years or more of experience in a similar position
- Have experience in the credit field within the construction industry (an asset)
- Hold a bachelor's degree in administration/accounting/finance (or related field)
- Possess an excellent level of bilingualism in French/English (written and spoken)
- Excellent mastery of Excel is an asset
- Mastery of accounting software is an asset
- Be an excellent communicator
- Have excellent analytical skills
- Be methodical, organized, and rigorous
