Position Overview

Calian is currently seeking an ENT specialist to practice at the medical clinic at Valcartier base for part-time clinical consultation services. Responsibilities

• Evaluate the patient using various investigative methods, such as head and neck diagnostic imaging, genetic and immunological testing, specialized laboratory tests, including biopsy and fine needle aspiration, and audiometric and vestibular evaluations, to make a diagnosis;
• Perform preventive or therapeutic interventions to prevent or treat ENT disorders, including advising the patient to quit smoking, consume alcohol responsibly, limit exposure to UVA/UVB rays, and protect against them, and prevent noise-induced hearing loss;
• Before surgical intervention, provide patients with instructions and information about the procedure and post-operative care, such as administration of sedatives and analgesics, dietary restrictions, antibiotic use, and post-operative instructions;
• Develop, with the patient and the multidisciplinary healthcare team, a post-operative intervention and follow-up plan to address the patient's healthcare needs. This plan may include recommendations for managing any deficiencies, temporary or permanent restrictions, and a prognosis;
• Communicate with the senior medical authority regarding medical issues;
• Provide ENT-related viewpoints, advice, and recommendations regarding the definition of patient health status policies, diagnostic criteria, and treatment guidelines, or in the context of a case conference, to the multidisciplinary healthcare team;
• Document consultations and all clinical acts performed on patients, and maintain their medical records systematically, in accordance with professional standards and the FAC.

Qualifications

• Active member of the College of Physicians of Quebec (CMQ)
• Member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
• Specialization in otolaryngology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada

Additional Requirements

• Day shift, consultation services 7.5 hours/week on-site
• Highly collaborative multidisciplinary team within a fully functional clinic with access to a support team
