General Internal Veterinarian

The main function of the *Veterinarian* is to provide professional veterinary services in accordance with the establishment's policies and the highest standards of the veterinary profession. His responsibilities include consultations with pet owners, diagnosis, establishment of treatment or surgical protocol, and adequate supervision of staff. The *Veterinarian* will also need to make efforts in supervision, planning, and coordination to ensure the establishment remains profitable while providing the highest quality veterinary services.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

The position of *Veterinarian* requires a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine or a similar degree from an accredited veterinary school allowing the obtaining of a license in Quebec.

Hierarchical Reporting

The *Veterinarian* reports primarily to the clinical director of the veterinary establishment.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

The *Veterinarian* is responsible for all the usual functions of a practicing veterinarian and the cases of clients under his care, including, but not limited to, routine therapeutic interventions, surgical interventions, patient file management, postoperative observation, accurate billing of clients, and examination of cases with the medical director or his replacement. The *Veterinarian* will attend community and client-oriented events organized by the company from time to time. The *Veterinarian* must maintain his professional standards by participating in the continuing education requested and approved by the Employer.
