The Opportunity:
As a MSP in ... you will act as an agile, collaborative and entrepreneurial healthcare professional, demonstrating strong functional expertise and creative thinking. Rather than executing a standard action plan, you will use ambiguity as a strategic advantage, uncovering new realities of the landscape, identifying emerging clinical trends, translating medical knowledge into care transformation and fostering the preparation of the healthcare system to improve long-term patient outcomes.
Every conversation you lead, every piece of compelling data you surface and every piece of evidence you translate helps Roche deliver better results to more patients, faster, while helping healthcare professionals prepare to change lives at scale.
*More specifically, you will need to:*
- Develop and apply scientific expertise to advance clinical practice within a multidisciplinary landscape
- Understand, establish and maintain networks to maximize potential and prioritize patient impact
- Demonstrate strong business acumen by translating health ecosystem information into rigorous territory plans. Make clear choices, prioritize high-impact initiatives and establish long-term clinical preparation
- Rapidly integrate knowledge about our expanding portfolio in the areas of metabolism, obesity, MASH and cardiometabolic into high-level scientific exchanges
- Collaborate with external stakeholders to co-create solutions to improve patient care
- Foster a culture of trust, autonomy and shared leadership through peer coaching and mentoring
- Learn and evolve continuously through transparent and productive feedback, while ensuring excellence in execution and compliance with standards of ethics, safety and compliance, and progress autonomously by giving and receiving transparent and constructive feedback
- Who You Are:
You are an experienced medical affairs professional, driven by functional mastery, strategic agility, disruptive thinking and a team-oriented collaborative spirit. You do not wait for step-by-step instructions. You thrive in complex and rapidly evolving environments, connect disparate pieces of information and build strategic pathways where none exist yet. In addition, you:
- Hold a university degree in a scientific program (PhD, MSc, MD, Pharm D, biomedical, health sciences) and/or relevant experience in the life sciences or healthcare system
- Have more than 7 years of experience in the life sciences or healthcare system, including clinical or therapeutic knowledge in metabolism (with a preference for obesity management). This role requires on-the-ground medical expertise and proven resourcefulness; it is not suitable for candidates new to field roles or the pharmaceutical industry
- Have the ability to turn sector ambiguity into strategic advantage, balancing scientific rigor with long-term business strategy to see the direct impact of today’s work on future patient outcomes
- Excel in high-level scientific dialogue, external debate, challenging existing paradigms and meaningful peer partnership with key medical experts
- Have experience in critical data analysis, statistical interpretation and translating complex trial data into clear and compelling scientific narratives
- Have a good understanding of the pharmaceutical environment and healthcare system, industry codes (ex. Medicines for Novel Canada - MNC), applicable regulations (ex. BPC, pharmacovigilance) and drug development (medicines, devices, etc.)
- Are able to travel as required by the company (may vary from limited to 40%)
- In this role, you will be in contact with colleagues across Canada; a high level of English proficiency and French proficiency are therefore required
