The Construction Site Nurse ensures the health and well-being of workers on-site. They provide first aid, follow up on incidents and injuries, participate in health and safety prevention activities, and contribute to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment according to regulatory and organizational requirements.
This position requires significant mobility across Quebec. The selected candidate must be able to travel and work on various construction sites as needed by the company's operational requirements. Assignments may vary depending on ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Medical Care and Interventions
- Provide first aid and emergency interventions on-site;
- Assess the health status of workers following incidents, accidents, or fainting spells;
- Determine the required level of care and coordinate, if necessary, transportation to appropriate medical services;
- Follow up on the medical status of workers who have suffered an incident or injury.
- File Management and Administrative Follow-up
- Document medical interventions in accordance with legal requirements and internal procedures;
- Maintain and ensure the confidentiality of medical records;
- Produce the required reports following incidents, accidents, or treatments administered;
- Participate in investigations and analyses of events in collaboration with the SST team.
- Prevention and Promotion of Health
- Contribute to the development of a prevention culture on-site;
- Educate workers on good practices in health, hygiene, and injury prevention;
- Participate in SST meetings, site inspections, and risk analyses;
- Identify situations that may impact the physical or psychological health of teams and recommend preventive measures.
- Coordination and Support for Operations
- Maintain the inventory of medical equipment, first aid supplies, and emergency equipment;
- Ensure that first aid stations and medical equipment remain compliant and operational;
- Participate in the development and updating of site emergency measures.
- This position is for you if you have:
- Bachelor's degree or college diploma in nursing;
- Member of the Order of Nurses and Nurses of Quebec (OIIQ);
- Experience in emergency care, occupational health, industrial, or construction site settings (important asset);
- Experience in the construction or large industrial projects sector, an asset;
- Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills in emergency situations;
- Ability to work autonomously in a remote and rapidly changing environment;
- Excellent relational and communication skills;
- Valid driver's license;
- Construction ASP card, an important asset;
- Intermediate English knowledge, both oral and written, to occasionally interact with national suppliers and colleagues; must be able to write communications and review documents in English;
- Significant geographical mobility;
- Availability to work on rotating schedules on-site.
