To support our growth and the activities of our Human Resources department, we are looking for a Human Resources Advisor – Generalist and International Recruitment.
Your role
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the person will actively participate in the daily activities of the HR department.
They will work in close collaboration with the Human Resources Technician, particularly for recruitment activities, welcoming and integrating new employees and foreign workers, training, and various administrative HR follow-ups.
Their role will mainly cover local and international recruitment, management of temporary foreign workers, training and skill development, health and safety at work, welcoming and integration, and human resources administration.
This is a diverse and evolving position that will suit an organized, proactive, and autonomous person who wishes to develop their skills and touch on various aspects of human resources.
Main responsibilities
Recruitment and acquisition of talent
In collaboration with the HR Technician:
- Participate in the complete recruitment process for the various positions in the company;
- Write and publish job offers on various recruitment platforms;
- Conduct proactive candidate searches;
- Conduct telephone interviews and participate in selection interviews;
- Follow up with candidates throughout the process;
- Conduct reference checks when required;
- Prepare job offers and the necessary documents for hiring;
- Coordinate the various steps preceding the start of new employees;
- Keep recruitment files and various platforms up to date;
- Participate in the development and improvement of attraction and recruitment strategies.
- International recruitment and temporary foreign workers
In collaboration with the HR Technician and various external partners specialized in immigration:
- Participate in the company's international recruitment activities;
- Coordinate and administratively follow up on temporary foreign workers' files;
- Collect, prepare, and transmit the necessary documents for various immigration files;
- Follow up with external partners involved in immigration procedures;
- Follow up on work permits, renewals, and other required documents;
- Keep the temporary foreign workers' tracking tables and various schedules up to date;
- Ensure that the necessary documentation is complete and stored in the files;
- Participate in the preparation and coordination of the arrival of foreign workers;
- Coordinate the various logistical elements surrounding their arrival when required;
- Actively participate in welcoming and integrating foreign workers within the company;
- Conduct the necessary follow-ups with workers after their arrival;
- Participate in the follow-up of the employer's obligations regarding temporary foreign workers;
- Maintain rigorous communication and follow-up with the various parties involved in the files.
- Training and skill development
- In collaboration with the HR Technician:
- Coordinate and follow up on employee training activities;
- Participate in the identification and follow-up of training needs;
- Plan and organize internal and external training;
- Register for various training providers;
- Follow up on mandatory training and their renewals;
- Keep individual employee training files up to date;
- Follow up on certifications, skill cards, and qualifications required for various positions;
- Coordinate the necessary training during the welcoming and integration of new employees;
- Participate in the creation and updating of training tools and documents;
- Conduct administrative follow-ups related to training;
- Participate in the follow-up of the company's obligations in terms of skill development.
- Health and safety at work (HSA)
- Actively participate in the daily management of health and safety at work files;
- Follow up on administrative aspects of work accidents and occupational injuries;
- Prepare and keep the necessary documentation for HSA files up to date;
- Conduct various administrative follow-ups with the CNESST;
- Participate in the management and follow-up of temporary assignments;
- Follow up on absences and returns to work related to HSA files;
- Participate in accident and incident investigations and analyses;
- Keep the accident, incident, and first aid registry up to date;
- Participate in the identification and follow-up of corrective measures;
- Coordinate mandatory health and safety training;
- Participate in various workplace prevention activities;
- Participate in the updating of policies, procedures, and programs related to HSA;
- Maintain rigorous follow-up of schedules and documentation related to CNESST files;
- Participate in various projects aimed at improving health and safety at work.
- Welcoming and integrating employees
- In close collaboration with the HR Technician:
- Coordinate the welcoming and integration of new employees;
- Prepare and verify the necessary documents for hiring;
- Ensure that new employees' files are complete;
- Coordinate the various administrative steps surrounding the start of employment;
- Participate in the welcoming and integration of foreign workers upon their arrival;
- Conduct the necessary integration follow-ups;
- Prepare and keep the tools and documents provided to new employees up to date;
- Participate in the continuous improvement of the welcoming and integration process.
- Administration and HR projects
- In collaboration with the HR Technician:
- Create, maintain, and update employee files;
- Follow up on missing documents and various administrative deadlines;
- Prepare various HR documents and communications;
- Conduct administrative follow-ups on personnel movements: hires, departures, job changes, and other file modifications;
- Participate in the writing and updating of HR policies and procedures;
- Keep various department dashboards and tracking tools up to date;
- Compile and produce various HR indicators and statistics;
- Participate in the improvement of HR processes and tools;
- Collaborate in the organization of activities and events for employees;
- Participate in various special projects of the Human Resources department;
- Perform any other related tasks that support the activities of the HR department.
- Contractual information
- Desired profile
- University or college degree in human resources, industrial relations, administration, or a related field;
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in human resources, ideally in a generalist role;
- Experience or knowledge in recruitment and acquisition of talent;
- Knowledge in health and safety at work and management of CNESST files considered an asset;
- Experience or interest in international recruitment and management of temporary foreign workers;
- Experience or knowledge in training coordination considered an asset;
- Good knowledge of the norms and obligations applicable in human resources;
- Excellent mastery of French, both oral and written;
- Good mastery of Microsoft Office suite and proficiency with HR information systems;
- Functional English considered an asset.
