Description of the Position
The Payroll Coordinator will work within the Shared Services Department - Payroll and Benefits Section of VRRHF. The incumbent will report to the Director of the Section and will have as their primary mandate the coordination of all operations related to payroll, time management, entry of scholarships, fees, and other data related to remuneration, all while respecting collective agreements and operational schedules.
The Payroll Coordinator must have significant experience in payroll processing and be familiar with the impact of HR data on payroll as well as the various responsibilities of the employer in matters of withholding taxes and production of tax slips. Teamwork, rigor in processing files, management of tight deadlines, and customer service will be a source of motivation for them.
The person will be responsible for managing a team of about ten people. They must be able to mobilize the strengths of a work team.
Specifically, the incumbent will be responsible for
- Planning, coordinating, and supervising the work of those assigned to the realization of operations related to the management of time and banks, with the production of payroll, employment statements, and tax slips, as well as the entry of data related to remuneration; ensuring the resolution of inherent problems and ensuring compliance with deadlines;
- Ensuring the quality and compliance of work and results, and this, in accordance with laws, collective agreements, regulations, agreements, and the operational calendar;
- Participating in the analysis of complex cases related to the services offered by their team;
- Ensuring the management of their team's personnel, including hiring, training, planning, and participating in training;
- Collaborating on the revision and continuous improvement of processes and work tools, ensuring efficient operation;
- Participating in the adaptation of processes in the event of new developments, particularly in the renewal of collective agreements;
- Ensuring the provision of quality customer service to personnel and managers of the organization, as well as to the internal HR sector teams;
- Ensuring the compliance of withholdings on payroll and their submission to the various organizations;
- Ensuring the recovery of amounts due in payroll as well as in the framework of certain service loan agreements and periodic billing;
- Keeping HR information up-to-date on the intranet and participating in communications to personnel;
- Maintaining a close relationship with the financial team in charge of the accounting aspects of payroll; understanding the accounting concepts inherent to payroll and supporting their team in these areas when necessary; participating in accounting verifications;
- Being aware of the news impacting the various aspects of payroll production, particularly from governments;
- Collaborating on various projects.

Will be considered as assets
- Accreditation as a Payroll Compliance Professional or Payroll Leadership Accredited by the National Payroll Institute;
- Experience in payroll processing and in the application of the various employer tax obligations, including the production of tax slips;
- Significant experience in personnel management as well as in customer service.

Education and Experience
University degree of the first cycle in an appropriate discipline and three (3) years of relevant experience.
