The Building Management Service proposes stimulating challenges and the opportunity to have a real impact on our city and our environment. Our team consists of specialists managing the present and future of a real estate portfolio consisting of more than one thousand three hundred buildings for a value of more than four billion dollars.

We are currently looking for a qualified person to fill a position of engineer or engineer specialized in building mechanics to the Division of Major Construction Projects, Buildings and Parks of the Building Management Service.

THE CHALLENGES

In the context of this position, your mandate will consist of assuming all the functions and tasks of an engineer or engineer. More specifically, you will proceed with the realization of construction projects in a multidisciplinary team, from the feasibility study stage, to the plans and estimates, and then follow up on the construction of construction/renovation projects of buildings, parks and sports surfaces.

Your Main Responsibilities Will Include

• Analysis, planning and control: You will supervise all stages of construction projects under your responsibility, including investigation, design, supervision of plans and estimates, environmental impact assessment, economic analysis and execution of work.
• Coordination: You will coordinate the activities of external professionals and contractors.
• Collaboration: You will participate in the activities of optimizing the operations and concepts of new constructions and restorations of municipal buildings, focusing on energy savings and sustainable development in order to reduce the environmental footprint.

To Be Part Of Our Team, You Must

• Hold a university degree in an appropriate discipline, such as mechanical engineering, construction engineering or another type of related engineering;
• Have a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in the building sector;
• Be a member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec;
• Have good knowledge of the principles and interest in sustainable development. Knowledge of the implementation mode in Building Information Modeling (BIM) would be an asset;
• Have other appropriate personal skills and qualities, such as: teamwork, autonomy, sense of organization, analytical and synthetic thinking, and good oral and written French;
• Have a class 5 driver's license and a vehicle, as you will be called to travel occasionally with your car as part of your duties.
