Do you want to play a leading role in securing, delivering, and managing projects while ensuring that the projects delivered meet and even exceed client expectations? The Infrastructures Business Unit (BOU) is looking for a motivated and dynamic leader for the Regional Leader (RBL) – Infrastructures – Quebec position. The incumbent will be responsible for health and safety performance, financial results, client satisfaction, employee engagement, and the management and implementation of the main elements of our unified approach. The RBL reports directly to the Operations Leader of the Infrastructures BOU (BOU-OL) – North America.

Main Responsibilities

  • Financial, operational, and business management – Understand and help implement the BOU’s vision and priorities. Develop a regional implementation plan and establish specific goals for the group.
  • In collaboration with the Chief Operations Directors (BCOL), establish ambitious goals for the services (BC) in terms of their business and results, support leaders in achieving and reporting on key indicators such as billability targets and margins, while supporting growth, technical excellence, and major projects of the group.
  • Work in partnership with the finance team and the BOU-OL Infrastructures to track progress towards annual goals and ensure that financial results reflect operational excellence.
  • Work in partnership with other RBL Infrastructures in North America to promote collaboration and work sharing within the group.
  • Ensure the development and implementation of improvement plans for BCs that do not meet their goals.
  • Team leadership – As an experienced leader, act as a trusted partner and advisor for your region.
  • Promote the culture, vision, and values of Stantec and the Infrastructures group.
  • Act as an ambassador for Stantec and its employees.
  • Ensure the attraction, development, and retention of highly performing employees in your region.
  • Actively participate in recruitment, career development, and employee engagement, succession planning, mentoring, efforts to promote inclusion and diversity, and the development of directors and managers.
  • Promote the maintenance of a work environment focused on success and accountability.
  • Hold end-of-year meetings with employees and conduct performance reviews, set goals, review salaries, and award bonuses under the short-term incentive program (STIP) for your region.
  • Client and project approach – Implement the customer relationship strategy and work with the BC leaders, those of the Excellence, Growth, and Major Projects pillars to achieve excellent results in client satisfaction surveys conducted in your region.
  • Work with the Growth team to expand the group’s geographic reach and client base through robust marketing, business development, and client account management plans, and effective strategies for securing major projects.
  • Establish strong relationships with the RBLs of the other BOUs in the region to multiply collaborations, in order to diversify the client base, access new expertise, and increase revenue.
  • Contribute to increasing Stantec’s visibility by making the company’s expertise and innovations known to clients, to increase Stantec’s reputation and revenue.
  • Actively contribute to project acquisition strategies and the successful delivery of infrastructure projects. As needed, participate in the development of strategic projects and the resolution of issues that may impact client satisfaction or concerning best practices in project management.
  • Ensure compliance with the ISO-certified integrated management system and the project management framework.
  • Ensure that a level of compliance with the project management framework of over 95% is achieved during internal audits.
  • Proactively target business opportunities that will help strengthen Stantec’s reputation for excellence, particularly in terms of innovation, speed, and productivity, and increase collaborations with the International Project Delivery Center in Pune (India).
  • Influence and leadership – In collaboration with the BC leaders, the Regional Growth Leader (RGL), and the Regional Project Delivery Leader (RDL), be responsible for the group’s performance in terms of health and safety, particularly in terms of advanced and late indicators.
  • Proactively target business opportunities that will help strengthen Stantec’s reputation for excellence, particularly in terms of quality, innovation, speed, and productivity.
  • Represent the team at industry conferences, events, and meetings.
  • Act as a resource person for acquisitions in the region, build relationships, and help integrate new members into the group.
  • Support and promote Stantec’s initiatives, in collaboration with the Growth, Technical Excellence, and Major Projects leaders.
  • Promote the company’s culture in terms of ethics and promote compliance with the company’s compliance policies.

Skills and Competencies

  • Operational management skills: able to identify and develop high-potential employees, establish and achieve business objectives, and motivate teams to achieve established goals.
  • Leadership skills: motivate and hold team members accountable, provide mentorship, and pass on knowledge.

Education and Experience

  • Registered (or eligible to register) with the Order of Engineers of Quebec
  • Holder of a professional degree and member of a professional order, if applicable.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in a multidisciplinary environment
