We are looking for a

Data Governance & Quality Specialist (Data Steward) who will help build strong, sustainable governance practices and make data a reliable, understandable, and reusable asset across the organization.

Role Summary

In this role, you will transform data governance principles into practical, actionable practices, including quality standards, ontology and semantics, usage rules, classification, traceability, and control mechanisms.

You will act as a functional subject matter expert on the meaning, quality, and appropriate use of data , collaborating closely with teams such as Data Ops, Architecture, Platform, Security, Product, and UX.

Your goal will be to ensure that data is reliable, understandable, discoverable, reusable, and ready to support AI, product, and operational needs .

What You’ll Do

  • Establish and continuously evolve data governance standards covering semantics, accountability, classification, quality, traceability, and usage rules.
  • Define usage contexts, interpretation guidelines, and reliability criteria for datasets, metrics, attributes, and key business concepts.
  • Serve as the functional authority on domain and data ontology, clarifying meaning, resolving ambiguities, and preventing inconsistent interpretations.
  • Guide decisions related to data catalogs, data contracts, metadata, data quality, lineage, observability, validation, and documentation without owning the technical implementation.
  • Partner with Data Ops, Architecture, Platform, and Security teams to ensure tools, structures, and pipelines support governance, auditability, scalability, and data reuse.
  • Define quality and compliance expectations for data used in analytics, artificial intelligence, products, and operational decision-making.
  • Identify risks related to data quality, governance, interpretation, and usage, and recommend corrective actions and improvement priorities.
  • Facilitate governance discussions and drive alignment across technical and business stakeholders.
