Required Skills \& Experience
- 10+ years of project management experience in ship repair, naval/marine, shipbuilding, aerospace, oil \& gas, or another complex industrial environment
- Demonstrated experience managing large-scale, multi-discipline projects with significant scope, schedule, and cost complexity
- Strong understanding of quality control, production scheduling, estimating, project controls, and change management
- Experience working with government clients e.g. DND, contracts, or highly regulated environments
- Strong ability to interpret technical specifications, assess repair requirements, and manage evolving scope following inspections and surveys
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Excel, or similar project management tools
- Bilingual English/French
- Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills
- Strong understanding of the relationship between production, quality, scheduling, cost, and contractual requirements
- Nice to Have Skills \& Experience
- PMP certification or equivalent formal project
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Ship Repairs to lead complex ship repair and maintenance projects from planning through execution and closeout for a large shipbuilding client in Levis, QC. This role is responsible for overall project delivery, including scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, production, and stakeholder management.
The ideal candidate has a strong marine, naval, shipbuilding, aerospace, or oil \& gas background and understands the unique challenges of executing large-scale repair projects where scope can evolve significantly following ship inspections and surveys.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day management and delivery of complex ship repair projects in a marine/shipyard environment.
Manage project scope from initial government specifications through ship inspection, surveying, emergent work, repair development, and final execution.
Identify and manage scope growth, change requests, and additional repair requirements, ensuring impacts to cost, schedule, resources, and contract requirements are understood and controlled.
Coordinate closely with production, estimating, scheduling, procurement, quality, engineering, and other functional teams to ensure effective project execution.
Monitor project performance against scope, schedule, cost, quality, and productivity targets and implement corrective actions as required.
Manage subcontractors, vendors, material readiness, production sequencing, inspections, and project deliverables.
Serve as a key interface with government and client stakeholders, providing clear reporting, managing expectations, and ensuring contractual requirements are met.
Apply disciplined project management and project controls while adapting to the changing requirements of a complex marine repair environment.
Provide leadership and mentorship to Project Managers, Deputy Project Managers, and other emerging project professionals.
Maintain strong focus on safety, quality, accountability, client confidence, and continuous improvement.
