We are looking for a Senior PowerBuilder / .NET Developer to join a multidisciplinary team composed of business experts and IT professionals. The candidate will participate in the modernization and evolution of critical applications as part of a technological upgrade program.
The main mandate involves migrating applications to PowerBuilder 2022, integrating services via REST APIs, and contributing to the continuous improvement of the application architecture.
Functions and Responsibilities
Main Responsibilities
- Participate in the migration and modernization of applications to PowerBuilder 2022.
- Analyze technical and functional impacts related to the upgrade.
- Develop, modify, and maintain application components in PowerBuilder and .NET.
- Design and integrate REST/JSON API calls from PowerBuilder.
- Collaborate closely with business analysts, architects, and users to understand needs and propose suitable solutions.
- Perform technical analyses, estimates, and architecture recommendations.
- Conduct unit tests and support integration and acceptance testing.
- Participate in incident resolution and application performance optimization.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation.
- Contribute to the improvement of development practices and quality standards.
Education and Experience
- University degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in application development.
- Minimum of 5 years of significant experience with PowerBuilder.
- Demonstrated experience in migration or version upgrade projects for PowerBuilder.
- Technical Skills
- Excellent mastery of PowerBuilder (versions 2019, 2021, or 2022).
- Good knowledge of the .NET framework (C#, VB.NET, or ASP.NET).
- Experience in consuming REST/SOAP web services.
- Mastery of JSON and XML exchanges.
- Experience in integrating APIs from PowerBuilder (HTTPClient, RESTClient, or equivalent mechanisms).
- Solid knowledge of SQL and relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, or equivalent).
- Knowledge of version control tools (Git, Azure DevOps, or equivalent).
- Experience with Agile methodologies is an asset.

CGI offers a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this position. The calculation of this range depends on various factors, including skill level, geographic market, experience, education, as well as professional licenses and certifications. Salary decisions depend on the particularities of each case. A reasonable estimate of this salary range is between $60,000 and $120,000. This position is open.
