Overview

At KPMG Canada, employees are called upon to leverage their perspectives to tackle the country's greatest challenges. Here, you can create momentum that transcends our organization, develop skills for tomorrow, and take charge of your career, all with support at every step. Join a firm where your career can truly make a difference.

Our Finance Transformation team is looking for a professional like you with the skills and drive to make a real difference. We partner with CFOs and finance leaders to modernize operations, strengthen governance, and unlock insights that drive profitability. We combine deep accounting expertise with innovative technology to help organizations build resilient, data-driven finance functions.

Our work primarily involves optimizing key financial processes, including project and fixed asset accounting, vendor and customer account management, budgeting and forecasting, general ledger and period-end closing processes, as well as financial and management reporting. These foundations enable us to design a target operational model for the future, implement best practices in finance through technology, and deliver sustainable value to the business.

To succeed in this role, you must be comfortable with ambiguity and capable of thriving in dynamic and ever-evolving environments where priorities change and solutions are not always obvious.

What you will do

  • Manage projects, including large-scale financial transformation initiatives, system implementations, and process improvements
  • Lead the development, review, and finalization of deliverables by setting clear objectives, coordinating team efforts, and managing timelines and risks to ensure deliverable quality
  • Help organizations manage their risks and improve their performance
  • Contribute to the development of proposals and the organization of marketing events
  • Identify commercial development opportunities for finance transformation consulting projects
  • Collaborate with KPMG leaders to improve and integrate service offerings across different consulting practice areas
  • Manage, mentor, and train consultants and senior consultants within the finance transformation consulting practice
  • Develop relationships and partnerships with other KPMG offices

What you bring to the role

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, commerce, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered
  • The CPA designation, combined with 7 to 10 years of relevant experience and in-depth technical expertise in accounting, is considered an asset
  • Proven experience within an accounting or consulting firm, with direct client contact responsibilities across various industries
  • Proven ability to lead with confidence and authority large-scale and complex workshops and workstreams
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage client stakeholders, foster team collaboration, and drive project outcomes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to clearly identify issues and develop innovative and practical solutions tailored to client needs
  • We are here to support you to give your best
  • Our values, the KPMG way
  • Integrity - we do what is right
  • Excellence - we never stop learning and improving
  • Courage - we think and act boldly
  • Together - we respect each other and draw strength from our differences
  • For the greater good - we make sure our work matters

Adjustments and accommodations throughout the recruitment process

At KPMG, we are committed to fostering an inclusive recruitment process that allows everyone to be themselves and excel. We aim to provide a positive experience and are prepared to offer adjustments and accommodations to help you give your best. Adjustments (unofficial requests), such as additional preparation time or the ability to take short breaks during interviews, and accommodations (official requests), such as accessible communication methods or technological aids, are tailored to individual needs and job requirements. Adjustments or accommodations can be requested at any time during the recruitment process. If you need assistance, please contact the KPMG Employee Relations team at 1-888-466-4778.

Use of AI

We use artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance the candidate experience and streamline our recruitment processes. AI tools can help organize applications or highlight relevant qualifications. However, no hiring decisions are made using AI. All hiring decisions are made by our recruiting managers and recruitment professionals, who have received training to use these tools responsibly. The AI technologies used in our recruitment process undergo thorough risk assessments, taking into account security and confidentiality requirements, in line with KPMG's Trusted AI Framework.

We believe that technology should enhance human judgment, not replace it. This is one of the many ways we embody our vision of being a technology-first firm that remains people-focused.
