To support our growth, we are looking for a Buyer who will play a key role in our procurement team.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring reliable, efficient, and competitive procurement of essential raw materials, components, and services for our operations. You will work closely with planning, production, warehouse, and engineering teams to ensure the availability of required resources while optimizing costs, lead times, and inventory levels.

More specifically, you will be called upon to:

  • Plan and execute procurement activities based on operational needs, production priorities, and inventory levels;
  • Ensure the availability of raw materials, components, and services in compliance with quality, cost, and delivery requirements;
  • Monitor orders and intervene quickly to minimize the impact of delays or procurement issues;
  • Develop and maintain a network of high-performing suppliers that meet the organization's needs;
  • Negotiate commercial terms to optimize costs, quality, and procurement lead times;
  • Evaluate supplier performance and implement actions that promote continuous improvement;
  • Analyze procurement needs and contribute to maintaining an optimal inventory level;
  • Contribute to the analysis of inventory discrepancies and recommend improvement solutions;
  • Analyze performance indicators related to procurement activities and propose optimization opportunities;
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement of processes, tools, and work methods;
  • Collaborate with different teams in the company to support the achievement of operational objectives;
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and requirements applicable to procurement activities.
  • You are the person we are looking for if you have:
  • A college diploma (DEC) in procurement management, administration, operations management, or a relevant discipline;
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a buyer or procurement role in a manufacturing environment;
  • Experience in negotiating with national and international suppliers;
  • Excellent knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management, and commercial negotiation;
  • Good knowledge of an ERP system as well as excellent mastery of Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft 365 suite;
  • Ability to analyze procurement data and performance indicators;
  • Knowledge of procurement planning principles and quality standards applicable to the manufacturing sector;
  • Mastery of French and functional English to interact with international suppliers;
  • Experience in the electrical manufacturing sector or power transformers (asset);
  • SCMP, PMAC, ASCM, or equivalent certification (asset).
