As an exclusive subsidiary of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ), CDPQ Infra acts as the client and project manager for major public infrastructure projects. We are responsible for all phases of the projects: design, planning, financing, project development, procurement strategy, implementation, and operation.

CDPQ Infra is particularly responsible for the deployment of the Rapid Transit Network (REM) in Greater Montreal and the implementation of the TramCité project in Quebec. CDPQ Infra is also a member of the Cadence group, which won the federal government's request for proposals for the Quebec-Toronto high-speed rail project, Alto.

Working within the TramCité project team, the successful candidate is responsible for ensuring rigorous tracking of all professional services related to planning and contract management. They ensure compliance with contractual obligations and ensure that commitments made to our partners are fulfilled in accordance with the established agreements.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Strategy and Contract Negotiation

  • Define commercial and contractual requirements, contribute to the development of implementation and negotiation strategies, and monitor contractual performance throughout the contract lifecycle;
  • Lead negotiation activities to protect the company's interests and achieve business objectives;
  • Develop and implement negotiation strategies to obtain fair and advantageous agreements while fostering constructive business relationships;
  • Provide financial, commercial, and contractual analyses necessary for the preparation, justification, and defense of the company's negotiation positions;
  • Prepare and present analyses, recommendations, and decision-making documents required to support management in the approval of contractual commitments and commercial issues.

Contract Administration and Governance

  • Lead activities in the interpretation, administration, and management of contracts to protect the company's interests and achieve business objectives;
  • Draft, review, and finalize contractual documents, agreements, amendments, notices, and protocols necessary to formalize concluded agreements;
  • Ensure the establishment, maintenance, and integrity of contractual files, including records, databases, official correspondence, contractual notices, and governance documents;
  • Control and supervise official contractual correspondence, ensuring that adopted positions are consistent with commercial strategy, contractual obligations, and management guidelines;
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all commercial and contractual questions with internal and external stakeholders.

Risk Management, Claims, and Contractual Performance

  • Manage contractual modifications, claims, potential disputes, and related agreements, as well as coordinate closing activities;
  • Monitor compliance with contractual obligations, special conditions, warranties, regulatory requirements, and deliverables, and proactively intervene to mitigate commercial and contractual risks;
  • Actively participate in project implementation activities by providing strategic support to teams to address complex issues, support decision-making, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations;
  • Collaborate closely with Legal Affairs, Finance, Project Control, Engineering, and Construction teams to ensure integrated management of commercial risks, claims, modifications, and contractual commitments;
  • Produce and present performance indicators, management reports, and dashboards to track risks, changes, claims, contractual compliance, and commercial performance of projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or engineering;
  • 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in the infrastructure construction sector;
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 suite and other computer tools;
  • Proficiency in French and English, both spoken and written;
  • Proficiency in other languages (an asset).
