What you will do with 'Our training and your experience'

  • Manages, monitors, and coordinates all aspects of large-scale projects, typically more complex, from assignment to completion, including on-site global management to ensure successful, timely, and budget-conforming execution. May be called upon to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Translates a wide range of client needs and requirements, requiring creativity and ingenuity in project proposals and detailed plans to meet client expectations; reviews and approves estimated costs before submission; provides technical assistance to the sales team if needed; ensures technical project design; supervises installation workforce and subcontractor preparation of project schedules, subcontract agreements, change proposals, and project invoices; manages project-related collections.
  • Proactively communicates project requirements to the project team and the rest of the company, as needed, and ensures accurate and up-to-date documentation of work status, work changes, material delivery, and other necessary control documents for internal and external reporting.
  • Always acts as the 'best provider for our clients', ensuring that Convergint Technologies is the client's first choice.
  • Identifies potential project risks and develops and implements strategies to mitigate their effects and control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines.
  • Regularly and proactively communicates project schedules, change proposals, and related activities to clients and continuously seeks to enhance client satisfaction.
  • Coordinates the procurement of materials, supplies, services, and control tools necessary for timely, profitable, and budget-conforming project completion.
  • Establishes project milestones and analyzes costs; uses financial systems to examine actual costs against estimated costs and provide timely and accurate reports on the subject; determines reasons for low productivity on job sites and their impact on the project; modifies or corrects the project plan and/or cost estimates to achieve financial objectives.
  • Manages the execution and review of the scope of work, client contract conditions, including cost control and service delivery and quality, as well as other client requirements that arise.
  • Assumes limited management responsibilities, including project planning, assignment, and direction, performance management, and project budget establishment. May be called upon to oversee the selection and performance of subcontractors.
  • Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as needed.

  • Strong experience in project management within a technical environment (building automation systems, fire alarm, and/or electronic security systems).

Job requirements

  • Degree in engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in engineering, field service, or project management, preferably.
  • Experience in one of the following industries, preferably: electronics, fire alarm, and person security, building automation.
  • At least three years of experience in project supervision.
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) certification, preferably; industry-specific certifications and/or licenses are an asset.
