About the Position
The intern will participate in various stages of problem-solving, to develop, manage and complete small projects and will be assigned various drawing tasks. He/she will participate in the improvement of mechanical equipment parts and mechanisms. The person will review technical data from mechanical design plans such as nomenclatures, materials and references. The incumbent will have to perform measurements and take measurements. He/she will need to develop and design solutions to solve the tasks assigned to him/her. He/she will document the work he/she will do. He/she will work in collaboration with the plant project engineer and designers from the drawing service for the needs of internal customers, namely production, mechanical reliability and maintenance.
Responsibilities include, among others
- Data collection, site surveys, problem definition, documentation review, to develop solutions that will be implemented.
- Correction of nomenclatures, dimensions, tolerances and technical data from plans.
- Develop and design parts and mechanisms and make them into plans.
- Technical support.
- Support for engineering projects, including budget approval requests.
The person sought must have a minimum of knowledge in the following fields: Metrology, materials and hardware, design and project management.
Desired Profile: The ideal candidate must:
- Be a full-time student in mechanical engineering and return to studies after the internship period;
- Possess a DEC in mechanical design or professional experience in drawings is an asset;
- Be autonomous, enjoy teamwork and have an analytical mind;
- Be able to communicate both orally and in writing;
- Have an interest in manufacturing and design drawings;
- Be able to use Autocad (2D), Autocad Mechanical (2D), Inventor (3D), Excel;
- Prioritize health and safety and that of colleagues in the workplace;
- Level: S2, S3

- Salary: between $27.19 and $29.78/hour (depending on the number of credits completed)
