Main Role
The main and regular role consists of providing technical assistance to the client base of one's sector for the realization of dental care-related work for clinical, research, and teaching purposes.
Characteristic Responsibilities
- Welcomes the client base.
- Selects, prepares, and installs the appropriate materials and equipment and assists the required persons during clinics, laboratories, and courses. Performs minor laboratory work.
- Familiarizes the people of one's sector with the operation of the devices, the handling of the instruments specific to the work to be done, and the use of the products.
- Within the limits of one's function, provides the necessary care and gives information and recommendations to the client base.
- Develops, duplicates, and identifies the radiographs.
- Uses, cleans, sterilizes, stores, checks, and maintains the dental instruments. As needed, sees to the repair of the instruments and equipment.
- Keeps track of the inventory of the materials of one's sector and ensures their supply.
- Follows up on work done by dental laboratories.
- Checks and files documents, files, or formulas.
- Completes various forms and writes reports related to one's work.

Required Qualifications
Education
- D.E.P. in dental assisting or equivalent
Experience
- One (1) year of relevant experience

For office tools, practical knowledge of a recognized software within each office tool family will be considered sufficient.
The regular and temporary employee who does not meet the normal requirements of the position may supplement as follows
- each year of missing relevant education can be compensated by two (2) years of relevant experience acquired at Université Laval or another employer;
- each year of missing relevant education can be compensated by one (1) year of education at the same or higher level in the same field of study as required;
- each year of missing relevant experience can be compensated by one (1) year of additional relevant education to the minimum education required for the position in the same field of study as required.

The person occupying this function is responsible for several tasks related to dental assisting. They may be called upon to work in the various dental clinics of the faculty.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Provide dental assisting to the client base of one's sector and ensure that the protocols are followed;
- Ensure the proper conduct of the treatments;
- Prepare the necessary instruments and materials;
- Prepare and provide the materials to the students for each discipline;
- Manage the orders;
- Welcome and reassure the patients of the required persons;
- Assist the required persons during various treatments.
- Perform the sterilization of the materials in accordance with the asepsis norms.

- 6 months of recent experience in implantology, periodontology, or endodontics
- Knowledge of the Dentonovo and Salud software will be considered
The person may be called upon to work in the various clinical sectors of the Faculty.
