Journeyman

Soudure Montérégie is looking for a reliable, hardworking, and resourceful person to support its metal fabrication team.

The journeyman in the workshop participates in the preparation of materials, the handling of pieces, and the maintenance of workspaces. His role is essential to allow welders to focus on tasks requiring their expertise.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Load, unload, and move materials;
• Prepare pieces for fabrication;
• Measure and identify materials;
• Perform simple cutting, drilling, grinding, and deburring tasks;
• Clean pieces before and after fabrication;
• Prepare tools and consumables needed for welders;
• Assist welders and assemblers in their tasks;
• Sort, store, and manage materials and scrap;
• Prepare and pack orders;
• Participate in loading vehicles and trailers;
• Maintain the workshop clean, safe, and functional;
• Perform basic maintenance of tools and equipment;
• Occasionally participate in on-site installations;
• Follow work methods and safety rules.

• ASSETS
• Experience in a welding or fabrication workshop;
• Knowledge of electric and pneumatic tools;
• Experience with a metal saw, grinder, or column drill;
• Ability to read a measuring tape;
• Basic knowledge of metals;
• Valid driver's license.
• Salary: $19.00 to $23.00 per hour
