The Director of Criminal and Penal Proceedings (DPCP) authorizes and directs criminal and penal proceedings before the courts on behalf of the Quebec State.
It is a public organization that exercises its powers independently of the government and political authorities. Its work is not influenced by any political, economic, police, media, or public pressure.
The DPCP accompanies victims of a crime through the judicial process while respecting the rights of accused persons. It thus contributes to protecting the population, fighting crime, and maintaining public trust in the criminal and penal justice system.

Your Future Work Environment
Under the responsibility of Chief Prosecutor, Ms. Véronic Picard, the Northern Quebec Office encompasses service points located in Abitibi-Témiscamingue and Northern Quebec. Its mission is to authorize and direct criminal proceedings of the judicial districts of these regions before the courts (including the courts of appeal) on behalf of the State and to carry out the required actions throughout the judicial process. - Remote work possible up to two (2) days per week.

The salary scale has 12 steps and ranges between $47,119 and $66,112.
The amounts associated with the different steps can be consulted on the website of the Treasury Board Secretariat.
The remuneration is determined based on the relevance of your years of education and experience, which are assessed in relation to the position. Therefore, it is important to detail them well in your application, which will serve as a reference.
The employee who has spent one (1) year at the last step of their employment class and who has obtained a satisfactory performance will receive a 102% increase in salary.

Job Requirements:
Hold a technical college diploma in the field of administration or any other relevant technical college diploma or a relevant study certificate whose equivalence is recognized by the competent authority.
We may consider the application of a person in the process of completing the last year of studies required to obtain the diploma.
If you do not possess the required relevant education, you can compensate each missing year of education with one (1) year of relevant education at the same or higher level as required.
If you hold a non-relevant college diploma (DEC) combined with one (1) year of relevant post-secondary education, we may consider your application.
If you hold a non-relevant college diploma (DEC) and six (6) years of relevant experience acquired in a job at the immediately lower level, college, or professional level, we may consider your application.
We will consider all education completed outside of Canada if it is subject to a comparative evaluation (equivalence certificate) issued by the Ministry of Immigration, Francization, and Integration.
You must have Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or a work permit issued by the competent federal authority to occupy a position in the Quebec public service.

You must have appropriate knowledge of French for the functions.
Other Elements of the Desired Profile

- You have excellent knowledge of spoken and written French.
- You have very good knowledge of Microsoft 365 and its applications: Teams, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Elementary knowledge of the workings of the judicial system would be an asset.
