Reporting to the Head of the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Telecommunications, and Electricity Division, the successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out electrical engineering projects in the transportation sector. These diverse projects are located in Quebec and Canada, covering public, port, airport, road, and rail transportation. ITS includes telecommunications, information technology, electrical engineering, and instrumentation/control.
The main responsibilities of the position holder include:
- Participate in the design and preparation of projects combining electrical engineering and telecommunications, including traffic lights, lighting, instrumentation/control, low-voltage distribution networks, connections, CCD/CCM, Softstart, and motors;
- Prepare plans, schedules, cost estimates, and service offers;
- Conduct technical studies, write reports, and provide engineering consulting services;
- Supervise the design of CAD plans and monitor project progress;
- Participate in site supervision and the implementation of electrical and technological projects;
- Understand and apply clients' technical and strategic orientations and solutions;
- Establish and maintain contacts with internal and external clients, and conduct information research with clients and suppliers.
Qualifications
- Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, automated production, or a related field;
- Minimum 4 years of experience in electrical design (Electrical Code, standards, distribution, protection, etc.);
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
- Good experience in writing technical documents and procedures;
- Excellent mastery of French, both oral and written;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Strong interest in continuous technical knowledge development;
- Ability to solve complex problems autonomously and holistically;
- Availability to occasionally travel, including internationally;
- Resourcefulness, autonomy, and teamwork spirit;
- Strong learning capacity;
- Good mastery of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of instrumentation and control;
- Knowledge of networking (wired or wireless) and information technology (IT);
- Knowledge of technological systems (video surveillance, sound reinforcement, dynamic display, access control, counting radars, etc.);
- Interest in design activities and on-site work;
- Good knowledge of English for possible mandates outside Quebec.
