Your Tasks

As a Switchman/Shunter, you'll be at the heart of the action on the floor, where the material takes shape.

Your workspace:

• Move trailers (full or empty)
• Ensure the delivery of goods, unloading, and regular equipment inspections
• Perform inventory of trailers
• Use computer systems
• Identify all problems that need to be reported to the garage
• Keep your equipment clean

The Strengths of a Switchman/Shunter

• You'll naturally fit this role if:
• You have a valid Class 1 driver's license (FM)
• You have experience as a truck driver and/or switchman (an asset)
• You have good skills in backing up a truck-trailer combination
• You have good knowledge of mechanics, traffic laws and regulations, and workplace health and safety best practices
• You demonstrate autonomy and diligence in completing your tasks
• You are responsible, resourceful, and concerned about equipment
• You are available, cautious, courteous, and resourceful
