The Inuulitsivik Health Centre (CSI) is dedicated to providing quality health and social services to Nunavimmiut living in the seven communities along the coast of Hudson Bay. To contribute to our mission, we are currently seeking a Nursing Advisor - Home Care.

Employment Conditions – Nursing Advisor – Grand North (Villages along the coast of Hudson Bay)

Salary

  • Between $30.71 and $56.34 per hour, depending on experience

Northern Primes and Other Conditions

  • Remote location allowance (without dependents) between $233.63 and $275.60 per week, depending on the village
  • Remote location allowance (with dependents) between $411.84 and $485.88 per week, depending on the village
  • Retention allowance between $449.54 and $545.90 per week, depending on the village and seniority
  • Cost of living allowance: between $58.40 and $188.72 per week, depending on the village
  • Clinic allowance if applicable: $228 per week

Main Responsibilities – Nursing Advisor – Grand North (Villages along the coast of Hudson Bay)

Under the supervision of the Head of the PLA/Sailivik/diabetes program, and in close collaboration with the PLA/Sailivik senior advisor, the advisor performs part or all of the following functions:

  • Develop and implement, in an interdisciplinary manner, new approaches to care, care programs, and teaching, as well as clinically proven tools.
  • Assume the role of coach or mentor to nurses and nursing assistants, across all departments.
  • Provide recommendations for improving the quality of care within the Nursing Care Department.
  • Develop, update, and distribute the necessary work tools for nursing teams to ensure a high level of quality in care provided to clients.
  • Use strategies to develop the skills and clinical reasoning of nursing staff.
  • Develop an integration and orientation plan for staff working in home care/CHSLD.
  • Act as the designated intervenor for the PIC (concerted intervention process) in child abuse prevention.
  • In collaboration with the Head of the PLA/Sailivik/diabetes program, and in close collaboration with the PLA/Sailivik senior advisor, provide recommendations related to AH-223.
  • Maintain the required statistics records, in collaboration with the Head of the PLA/Sailivik/diabetes program.
  • Any other task, at the request of the Director of Nursing Care or the Head of the PLA/Sailivik/diabetes program.
  • Serve on committees and working groups, at the request of the Director of Nursing Care.

Academic Requirement

  • Bachelor of Nursing Sciences
  • or
  • Bachelor's degree with three acceptable certificates, including at least two certificates recognized in nursing and a permit to practice from the Order of Nurses and Nurse Practitioners of Quebec (OIIQ).

Experience Requirement

  • Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience in home care/CHSLD/elderly care
  • Minimum of two years of experience in team support, teaching, and coaching

Other Requirements

  • Active member of the OIIQ
  • Bilingualism (French, English) Inuktitut is an asset
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes software
  • Knowledge of evidence-based data research
