Transport Planning Advisor

We are looking for a Transport Planning Advisor to fill a permanent position as well as a temporary position (12 months) at the Mobility and Road Safety Section of the Transportation and Intelligent Mobility Service.

We are seeking candidates with a profile in urban planning, road safety, and mobility planning, who wish to contribute to the evolution of the territory and the ways of moving around it. THE CHALLENGES

Within the team of the Mobility and Road Safety Section, you bring your expertise by joining an interdisciplinary team. As a Transport Planning Advisor, you will participate in the planning, analysis, and design of projects that have an impact on urban travel. You will ensure their consistency with the City's strategic orientations and the objectives of its Road Safety Strategy.

More Specifically, You

• Analyze data and conduct studies on travel and road safety;
• Conduct research and maintain a watch on policies, trends, and innovative practices in mobility and road safety;
• Contribute to the planning and design of mobility planning projects that have an impact on travel;
• Formulate recommendations, strategic orientations, and action plans;
• Collaborate with the different administrative units of the City and partners in the field;
• Present and popularize your analyses and recommendations to different stakeholders and decision-making bodies.

To Be Part of Our Team, You Must

• Hold a bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline, such as engineering, urban planning, or geography. A master's degree in a related field, such as urban planning, urban design, or territorial planning, will be considered an asset;
• Have a minimum of three years of relevant experience in the field;
• Have excellent knowledge of planning and road network management concepts, as well as a deep understanding of the City of Quebec's strategic road safety plan, including issues related to micromobility (bicycles, electric scooters, etc.) and the securing of areas frequented by the elderly;
• Have knowledge of project management;
• Have computer skills, including advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite;
• Have excellent spoken and written French language skills;
• Have a sharp analytical mind, a good capacity for innovation, and the ability to play an advisory role in your field;
• Demonstrate adaptability, planning skills, organization, and the ability to manage priorities;
• Show very good collaboration and partnership skills and excellent customer service skills;
• Have good geographical knowledge of the City of Quebec and its road network will be considered an asset;
• Have good public speaking, explanation, and persuasion skills.
