Our client, a multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm operating in the construction sector, is looking for a civil engineer to join their office in Laval.
As a civil engineer, you will participate in the design and supervision of work for a variety of commercial, industrial, institutional, and municipal projects. In collaboration with our multidisciplinary teams, you will accompany our clients throughout the project lifecycle, from concept development to commissioning.
You will ensure compliance with plans, estimates, and regulatory requirements, while actively contributing to the design, planning, and success of projects. You will have the opportunity to get involved in all phases of implementation and tackle diverse challenges within an engaged and collaborative team.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Perform technical calculations, design of civil engineering elements (municipal networks, sewers, water mains, roads, stormwater retention, parking lots, streets);
- Conduct studies, budget estimates, and reports;
- Plan and assign Civil team resources on a project basis;
- Collaborate and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and participating professionals;
- Ensure compliance with standards, codes, and best practices, and perform site inspections;
- Acquire data, prepare site reports, studies, and reports;
- Plan and conduct site supervision, write reports, follow-ups;
- Participate in client and professional meetings, write technical letters and correspondence related to projects;
- Perform site measurements, progress claims, etc.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and member of the OIQ;
- Knowledge of the CNB;
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software;
- Knowledge of PC SWMM and BLUEBEAM software;
- Skills in managing municipal, commercial, industrial, and institutional projects;
- Significant experience (5 years) in a similar civil position;
- Preferred experience in consulting engineering;
- Relevant site experience;
- Proficiency in the design of municipal networks, roads, civil engineering works, and stormwater retention systems;
- Comfortable with client relations;
