General Assistant, Full-Time

Your Role

As a General Assistant, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our customers' experience. You will be a versatile team member and may be called upon to work in various food service sectors as operational needs arise.

You will participate in basic food preparation and setup, provide courteous and efficient service at different counters, operate the cash register, and contribute to the maintenance and proper functioning of the facilities. You may also be required to perform tasks such as refilling vending machines, deliveries, and catering services.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities

• Work in a versatile manner across different food service positions and sectors as operational needs arise.
• Perform basic food preparation and setup, including washing, peeling, cutting, and preparing fruits and vegetables.
• Provide efficient, courteous, and friendly service in various commercial areas, including counters, cash registers, and service lines.
• Operate the cash register, process transactions, and provide professional customer service.
• Transport pots, kettles, and food trays to workstations, ovens, and refrigerators, following safety norms.
• Store food in designated areas, adhering to packaging, dating, food safety, and stock rotation procedures.
• Use approved recipes and follow production standards to ensure food quality, appropriate service temperatures, and standard portion sizes.
• Monitor food temperatures and inform cooks of any temperatures that do not meet established standards.
• Distribute supplies, utensils, and small equipment as needed.
• Perform basic refilling and maintenance of vending machines, as required.
• Participate in the preparation and execution of catering services, including food and supply preparation, transport, setup, and service.
• Perform food, supply, or equipment deliveries as needed by the service.
• Daily plan food needs and contribute to supply management.
• Perform general cleaning and maintenance tasks to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
• Empty trash bins and dispose of waste in designated areas.
• Welcome and serve customers efficiently, courteously, and warmly, while adhering to service standards.
• Address customer concerns professionally and convey relevant information to the supervisor.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, food safety, and safety norms at all times.
• Perform any other tasks necessary to ensure the smooth operation of food services.

To succeed in this role, you possess:

• Experience using a cash register, an asset.
• Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to efficiently manage a sustained workload and adapt to different tasks.
• The ability to work autonomously while effectively collaborating with a team.
• Good command of French, both spoken and written, as well as the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Previous experience in the food service sector, particularly in healthcare, hotels, restaurants, or fast-food establishments, an asset.
• Strong customer service skills and a positive, professional attitude.
• The physical abilities required to perform tasks associated with the position, including food preparation, service, cleaning, supply movement, and equipment transport.

The hourly wage for this position is $16.75. The final remuneration will be determined based on skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
