The Inuulitsivik Health Centre (CSI) is dedicated to providing quality health and social services to the Nunavimmiut living in the seven communities along the coast of Hudson Bay. Salary: * Between $41.47 and $58.86 per hour, depending on experience

Therefore, there are differences in how each village's team manages its practice. Nevertheless, each midwife and student in Nunavik is responsible for certain basic tasks.

They include: * Providing complete pre-, peri-, and post-natal care: sharing responsibilities for all aspects of perinatal care, according to the level of experience and developmental skills; * Offering gynecological screening care and education for women from adolescence to menopause, including PAP test, family planning advice, administration and preparation of various forms of contraception, advice and treatment for STIs, breast self-examination, common gynecological health issues * Providing care for babies and offering advice up to six weeks of age * Ensuring continuity of care and providing up-to-date reports to the team, replacement midwives, and any healthcare provider who has been consulted or to whom partial care has been referred. * Sharing equitable shifts with other midwife team members * Assisting in organizing and performing emergency transfers (Medevacs) * Taking, preparing, and evaluating laboratory specimens, according to maternity guidelines and protocols; treating and referring if necessary * Leading and updating prenatal group sessions - nutrition during pregnancy, common pregnancy-related issues, preparation for birth, feeding in the first year of life, etc. * Participating in the development of public health programs and teaching the community (e.g., health-related conferences, radio programs on nutrition, TSAF, HIV/AIDS, family violence circles, meetings with the elderly and youth...) * Contributing to the development of skills and increasing participation in all aspects of perinatal care by sharing knowledge and skills with midwifery students, healthcare workers, maternity workers, and other midwives * Maintaining precise and up-to-date records * Collecting and compiling statistics * Participating in research projects * Participating in the daily operation of the maternity, ordering supplies, checking and organizing equipment, etc. * Being an active member of the Medical, Pharmacist, Dentist, and Midwife Council of the health center * Working in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team that includes other healthcare providers and community members and being accountable * Participating and sitting alternately on the Perinatal Committee (a subcommittee of the CMDPSF that meets weekly to review files, develop and update protocols, and other tasks) * Participating in annual employee meetings and peer reviews and helping to maintain good communication within the team * Participating in the orientation of new and replacement healthcare workers, doctors, nurses, and midwives * Maintaining participation in the Nunavik Midwives Consultation Committee * Participating in periodic teleconference reviews of midwives in Nunavik * Participating in regional, national, and international conferences on midwifery practice and women's health * Contributing to the evaluation of care, training, skills, policies, and procedures in the context of midwifery practice in accordance with the standards that govern it and the Inuulitsivik philosophy on maternity care * Serving pregnant women, during childbirth, and after childbirth, according to their individual needs and ensuring their physical and emotional safety within the framework of the Inuulitsivik philosophy and midwifery protocols * Assuming any other task related to the responsibilities and functions decided by the maternity team that can contribute to ensuring culturally adapted quality care, according to the Inuulitsivik philosophy and the principles of practice and teaching * Traveling as needed to another maternity for the needs of the service, at the request of the DSP Requirements - Midwife - Grand North (Villages along the coast of Hudson Bay)

Education

Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in midwifery practice * Neonatal Resuscitation Certificate * Obstetric Emergency Certificate (dated less than three (3) years ago)

Experience: * Three (3) years as a midwife
