(CAN) Assistant Store Manager, Consumables

Position Summary...

To support the Store Manager and manage store operations according to Company guidelines and lead Associates to ensure friendly, helpful service and drive profitable store sales.

What you'll do...

As a member of the store leadership team, he works to monetize sales by achieving sales and profit goals, budget management and forecasting. He analyzes and uses financial and sales reports, economic trends and community needs proactively to identify market changes and respond to them, while controlling expenses. He communicates sales results to associates and guides their interpretation. He creates, with the leadership team, the operating plans, establishes priorities, delegates and provides clear instructions to managers and associates. He ensures the optimal condition of the stores by effectively presenting the merchandise, the accuracy and competitiveness of prices and the application of store standards in compliance with the Company's directives and guidelines. He implements new programs according to the Company's instructions while evaluating the effectiveness of achieving results related precisely to the cash area, the reserve, fresh products or operation according to the sector under his responsibility. An assistant manager is trained in several tasks to work in several sectors of the store as needed.

Execute and monitor asset protection and security controls. Maintain quality assurance standards, oversee security and operations inspections, while ensuring compliance with Walmart directives and procedures, as well as with established security, sales, finance and archiving procedures and practices. He executes and acts proactively to resolve compliance issues, including general and leak controls.

Acts towards customers as a corporate ambassador, welcoming them, collecting their opinion and responding to their needs, complaints and ensuring problems are resolved according to the Company's guidelines to create a positive experience. As a member of the leadership, he sets the example, reinforces and provides instructions to associates on the methods and techniques of providing courteous and attentive customer service. He supports store projects aimed at serving the community by participating in community events and building relationships with main community groups. Participates in Company-sponsored programs, events and associate and customer sustainability efforts to highlight the essential role of the store in the community.

Manages associates by regularly organizing store meetings and communicating operational instructions and projects that bet on the results of the entire store and OMNI activities. Stimulate engagement, recognize and reward achievements and offer professional growth opportunities. Identifies high-potential associates, offering training and development to enhance their skills.

Demonstrates Company values by holding associates accountable by providing honest, precise, respectful, timely feedback and corrective and disciplinary measures. Establishes and manages relationships with store and district support staff (e.g., district HR managers, etc.).

Complies with all Company standards and procedures regarding merchandise handling, including, without limitation, alcoholic beverages, ammunition, medications, and high-value merchandise. Ensures appropriate cash controls for amounts up to $250,000 per day.

The pay range for this position is $56,100.00 - $66,642.50. Pay will be determined based on relevant experience.
