Asset Protection Associate

Position Summary...

The Asset Protection Associate plays a key role in creating and maintaining a safe, secure, and professional store environment for customers, associates, visitors, and vendors. By following Asset Protection standards and demonstrating positive, professional behaviour, this role helps prevent financial and physical loss, reduce shrink, and support store profitability. Through awareness, observation, and teamwork, the Asset Protection Associate helps protect people, merchandise, and the overall shopping experience.

What you'll do...

Description DES tâches

• Store Security and Loss Prevention

Perform daily store tours to contribute to ensuring a safe and secure environment. Check the proper functioning of doors, windows, and security devices and take necessary measures.

Investigations and Case Management Support

Investigate incidents of financial and material losses and communicate findings to the store management. As part of internal investigations, transmit information to the Market Loss Prevention Manager, in accordance with company guidelines. Lead or support investigations regarding internal or external theft, organized crime groups, and cases assigned by Walmart Canada's Global Ethics Service.

Emergency Response and Store Support

Support store evacuation and emergency procedures in case of incidents such as fires or other emergencies. Participate in store team tasks and responsibilities as needed to support general operations.

Law Enforcement and Arrests

Proceed with arrests outside when necessary, in accordance with company directives and legal standards.

Communication and Reporting

Gather and communicate information from various sources, clearly explaining the issues and conclusions to the leadership team and other interested parties, while presenting relevant viewpoints.

Additional Tasks

Assume additional responsibilities as needed in response to evolving operational needs and asset protection priorities.

Flexibility (Availability/Work Schedules)

• Be willing to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed by the company. Your adaptability contributes to ensuring the smooth operation of the store and consistent, high-quality customer service.

• Physical Demands
• Perform physical tasks such as standing for long periods, bending, and lifting merchandise, equipment, or supplies weighing up to 9 kg (20 lb) and sometimes up to 23 kg (50 lb).
• Perform repetitive tasks such as restocking, zoning, and shelving products, with particular attention to detail and consistency to maintain store standards.
