Main Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, routine maintenance, and minor repairs on mechanical equipment, including hangar doors, overhead doors, fire doors, etc.
- Install, disassemble, repair, and reassemble machines using welding equipment and manual and electrical tools.
- Conduct building inspections to ensure compliance with building code standards.
- Work safely, in accordance with industry standards, while performing various tasks related to facilities.
- Work autonomously or in a team, under pressure, and in rotating shifts, including weekends and on-call.
Qualifications
- Mandatory DEP (Diploma of Vocational Studies);
- Valid driver's license with clean record required;
- Interprovincial Mechanic-Fitter Companion's Permit or Interprovincial Qualification Certificate (Red Seal), an asset;
- At least five years of experience in the field;
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, email, and Internet);
- Knowledge of building mechanics, hangar door systems, control systems, facility management systems (Trane/Siemens), mechanical system operation, MIG welding, SIGE (Computerized Maintenance Management System);
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and attention to detail;
- Punctuality and reliability to support the team's overall success in a fast-paced environment;
- Ability to meet Air Canada's medical standards through a medical examination;
- Hiring is subject to meeting Transport Canada's safety requirements, as well as obtaining a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) and an Airport Vehicle Operations Permit (AVOP); please consult the Transport Canada website for more details.
