Required experience and skills

  • Willingness to work variable hours; days, evenings, and one weekend a month.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and a talent for customer service.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • One to two years of experience as a supervisor or team leader is an asset.
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lb) alone or with the help of a colleague.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead associates and encourage them to build relationships with customers and colleagues to provide exceptional customer service and generate gross sales while having excellent knowledge of merchandising and products.
  • Ensure adequate staffing within the department or service to meet business needs.
  • Manage associate performance by offering development opportunities, communicating responsibilities and goals, recognizing and rewarding efforts, and providing continuous feedback.
  • Review various reports, including sales reports, and collaborate with the assistant store director to develop recommendations to improve stock, shelf organization, and related product merchandising to drive sales.
  • Ensure stock availability at all times and adherence to shelf organization plans.
  • Analyze, resolve, and appropriately address customer issues.
  • Report store sales, events, and promotional activities during daily and weekly department or service meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with and clear communication of all safety and resource protection standards and protocols.
