Reporting to the Plant Engineering Director, you will act as an expert resource in control and automation for the plant. You will be responsible for the execution of engineering projects, the technical implementation of process improvement initiatives, and support for control system-related issues. This role also includes the management and organization of systems, programs, technological resources, and plant control standards.

Responsibilities

  • You contribute to achieving the company's objectives through the following actions:
  • Coordinate engineering projects related to the addition of new equipment, production improvement, and control systems;
  • Participate in the establishment of standard bids for project execution and receive associated submissions;
  • Stay informed about technological advancements and propose improvements to standards;
  • Work in a team with different departments of the company to include best practices in projects;
  • Ensure that work under your responsibility is completed safely and act as a leader in health and safety;
  • Communicate project progress status to colleagues and plant management;
  • Update electrical and control schematics during modifications;
  • Ensure that all electrical and control deliverables are in place for projects;
  • Provide training to teams on new systems and equipment;
  • Act as an automation expert and reference resource for resolving complex issues;
  • Contribute to the management and execution of obsolescence plans;
  • Ensure the integration of equipment and interoperability between systems;
  • Perform any other tasks related to the position.
  • Required Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for someone who can

  • Hold a technical education in industrial automation, control/PLC, or equivalent experience;
  • Have 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in the food industry;
  • Be able to read, review, and update electrical schematics;
  • Be a member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (an asset);
  • Have experience in the implementation and troubleshooting of safety circuits and components;
  • Have experience in navigating and troubleshooting robotic, vision, and servo control systems;
  • Be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English;
  • Demonstrate a strong technological curiosity and a willingness to learn continuously;
  • Possess strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Salary

Starting salary of $73,425.88 and can go up to $102,796.24 depending on experience + Bonus.
