Reporting to the Head of Continuous Improvement and Supply Chain Transformation, the Data Scientist plays a key role in the team's collective success and actively contributes to the evolution of Legault Group. Passionate about programming, artificial intelligence, and supply chain, they are interested in warehouse automation technologies and flow optimization.
They leverage data from the Dematic (WCS) system, SAP S/4HANA modules, and sales channels to develop predictive analyses, optimization models, and concrete solutions to support decision-making.
Your Mission at Legault Group: Supply Chain Analysis and Modeling
- Develop predictive and analytical models for demand forecasting, stock optimization, replenishment, and warehouse performance.
- Experiment with advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI techniques such as forecasting, optimization, anomaly detection, and scenario modeling.
- Ensure models are explainable, actionable, and validated against real operational constraints.
- Data Integration and Activation
- Utilize Snowflake datasets from Dematic, SAP S/4HANA, and sales channels.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams.
- Support the transition from experimentation to production-ready analytics.
- Delivery and Visualization of Ideas
- Provide dashboards and analyses to support decision-making using Tableau.
- Clearly communicate information, assumptions, and limitations to stakeholders.
- Exploration and Innovation in Artificial Intelligence
- Identify AI and advanced analytics use cases in supply chain operations.
- Define hypotheses, success metrics, and conduct structured experiments.
- Promote responsible and ethical use of AI solutions.
- Business Collaboration
- Act as a trusted partner for the supply chain, operations, and SAP functional teams.
- Collaborate with business intelligence teams
Profile
We are looking for a person recognized for their expertise, professionalism, and ability to collaborate in a dynamic and transformative environment.
Here are the strengths and skills sought to actively contribute to the team:
- University degree in a quantitative field, operations management, industrial engineering, or related discipline; a master's degree is an asset
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
- Proven experience as a supply chain and retail data expert
- Strong skills in SQL and Python
- Practical experience with Snowflake, Tableau, Matillion, SAP S/4HANA
- Natural curiosity
- Adaptability in changing environments
- Bilingualism (English and French) is required, as you will be regularly interacting with clients, partners, or colleagues across Canada in both official languages.
