Description of VIACTIVE and PIED Programs
VIACTIVE is a program of the MSSS aimed at promoting a physically active lifestyle to contribute to the well-being of individuals aged 65 or older and young retirees (aged 55-64). PIED (Integrated Dynamic Balance Program) is an exercise program for individuals aged 65 or older, focusing on improving balance and strength, as well as home adaptation and adoption of safe behaviors to prevent falls.
Job Responsibilities
The VIACTIVE Advisor covers the territory of the Capitale-Nationale region, including Portneuf, Charlevoix, and the agglomeration of Quebec. More specifically, their tasks include:
- Implementing the VIACTIVE - PIED Action Plan for the Capitale-Nationale region;
- Recruiting VIACTIVE groups and supporting them in organizing activities while adhering to program standards;
- Recruiting and training volunteer animators within various groups;
- Organizing regional events (volunteer recognition day, training day, etc.);
- Promoting a physical activity service offer for individuals aged 55 and over;
- Reporting the VIACTIVE situation to the CIUSSS of the Capitale-Nationale within the prescribed deadlines;
- Promoting the VIACTIVE and PIED programs, as well as other programs in the Fall Prevention Services Continuum, to the elderly in the Capitale-Nationale region, and establishing links between the programs.
- Additionally, the VIACTIVE Advisor will support the regional VIACTIVE - PIED coordinator:
- Recruiting PIED groups and planning groups to meet the needs of the groups;
- Managing the inventory of promotional and intervention materials for the VIACTIVE and PIED programs and distributing them as needed locally;
- Writing articles for the VIACTIVE and Écho des deux Rives journal;
- Promoting the VIACTIVE and PIED programs, as well as other programs in the Fall Prevention Services Continuum, to the elderly in the Capitale-Nationale region;
- Establishing links between the PIED program and other programs in the Fall Prevention Services Continuum for the elderly in the Capitale-Nationale region.
