SENIOR ESTIMATOR –

SENIOR ESTIMATOR – GOVERNMENT PROJECTS

Klondike Environmental is seeking a fully bilingual Senior Estimator with extensive experience preparing public-sector and government tenders.

The successful candidate must have at least five years of experience working with public tendering platforms, including MERX, SEAO and CanadaBuys.

Key responsibilities:

• Search for and analyze public-sector and government tender opportunities;
• Review and interpret specifications, drawings, addenda and contract documents;
• Prepare detailed estimates for labour, equipment, materials, transportation, disposal and subcontracting;
• Prepare professional, complete and compliant bid submissions;
• Verify all mandatory requirements, certifications and administrative documents;
• Obtain and analyze pricing from suppliers and subcontractors;
• Attend site visits and meetings with clients;
• Collaborate with the operations team to determine work methods, equipment and required resources;
• Monitor addenda, deadlines and tender closing dates;
• Prepare clarifications and responses to client questions;
• Follow up on submitted bids and participate in negotiations when required.
• Required experience and qualifications:
• Minimum of five years of experience in estimating and public tender preparation;
• Proven experience with MERX, SEAO and CanadaBuys;
• Experience with environmental projects, excavation, transportation and spill-response management;
• Strong understanding of municipal, provincial and federal government projects;
• Excellent ability to read and interpret technical specifications;
• Strong professional writing and communication skills;
• Full professional proficiency in both English and French, written and spoken;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and estimating software;
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously;
• Strong attention to detail, autonomy and the ability to meet strict deadlines.

Full professional bilingualism in English and French is an essential requirement for this position.
