What you will do on a daily basis
- Design complex and varied automated systems: custom robotic cells and industrial equipment, different from one project to the next
- Select appropriate technical components and suppliers, and validate their integration into the systems
- Be involved in all project phases: from client ideation to on-site installation and post-implementation support
- Produce the necessary technical documentation for manufacturing (manufacturing drawings, schematics, equipment manuals)
- Work closely with mechanics, machinists, welders, and subcontractors to ensure the feasibility and quality of the equipment
- Make trips to clients for site surveys, implementation, technical support, and on-site problem-solving
- Contribute to the automation and standardization of 3D models to improve design processes
What we are looking for
- Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent experience
- 5 or more years of experience in designing industrial equipment or automated systems
- Excellent mechanical mind, you intuitively understand how systems work and interact
- Hands-on and resourceful, you like getting your hands dirty and finding concrete solutions
- Proficiency in a 3D CAD software (Inventor is a plus, AutoCAD is appreciated)
- Comfortable with client trips for site surveys, implementation, and technical support
- Innovative spirit, you like proposing new ways of doing things and improving processes
- Knowledge of 3D printing, a plus!
- Self-motivated, meticulous, and enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team
