We are looking for a dynamic, innovative, and creative intermediate estimator who will thrive in the engineering consulting sector. You will actively participate in responding to our clients' growing demands. By joining our team, you will be responsible for estimating direct and indirect costs related to various projects and tracking changes.

• Support the development of multidisciplinary estimates based on engineering data, material takeoffs, and/or project scope documentation
• Organize estimates according to the work structure and established account coding
• Support the calculation of labor hourly rates, productivity coefficients, and indirect costs
• Prepare evaluations for allowances, surcharges, and miscellaneous fees
• Conduct material takeoffs
• Participate in value analysis exercises and trade-off studies
• Collaborate with cost controllers and project planners
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimation methods, tools, and procedures
• When assigned to the job site, evaluate changes to the client and/or subcontractor contracts
• Prepare estimation execution plans and estimate bases

Certifications and Requirements for the Position, in Brief

• College or university degree
• 5 to 12 years of relevant experience in estimation within the engineering consulting sector or any other combination of education and relevant experience
• Experience in estimating projects in the mining and/or heavy industry sectors
• Experience with estimation practices in conceptual studies, pre-feasibility, and feasibility studies
• Knowledge of estimation software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office suite
• Advanced English level to facilitate good collaboration with BBA offices and/or clients located in the Canadian provinces and internationally (English usage frequency may vary from occasional to daily depending on ongoing projects)
• Advanced French level to facilitate good collaboration with BBA offices and/or clients located in Quebec
• Asset: Knowledge of AACEI practices
• Asset: Experience in estimating international projects
• Asset: Experience in construction methods and estimation in multiple disciplines
