Civil Engineering Technician (Engineering and Underground Work)

Summary

The MRC of Lotbinière is looking for a versatile civil engineering technician to support its activities in municipal engineering, watercourse management, and the environment. Reporting to the general director and the director of projects – Waste Management and Engineering, the selected person will actively contribute to the planning, design, and monitoring of various projects related to infrastructure and the environment. They will also assume a supporting role for municipalities and internal teams.

More specifically, this person will need to:

Municipal Engineering

• Technical design of projects
• Field surveys using surveying instruments
• Mapping
• Site supervision
• Respond to information requests from municipalities
• Technical support for MRC projects

Watercourse Management

• Coordination of maintenance work
• Respond to information requests from citizens or municipalities

Environment

• Management of a wastewater treatment plant
• Environmental and LET operations monitoring
• Participation in the development and implementation of the PGMR
• Participation in composting platform operations

Requirements

• Hold a college diploma in civil engineering. Any other combination of education and experience deemed relevant will be considered;
• Have 3 to 5 years of experience in municipal work or infrastructure (an asset);
• Knowledge of the municipal environment or the functioning of an MRC (an asset);
• Good mastery of drawing and design software (AutoCAD or equivalent);
• Knowledge of reading plans and estimates;
• Knowledge of applicable standards (MTQ, BNQ, etc.);
• Ability to perform field surveys and site inspections;
• Proficiency in computer tools (Office suite, specialized software);
• Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a valid driver's license to perform tasks related to the job.
