At the heart of the City of Quebec's mandates, the Intelligent Transport and Mobility Service directly contributes to the mobility of people and goods by ensuring efficiency, safety, economy, and comfort in a sustainable development perspective.

THE CHALLENGES

The Traffic Data Assistant plays a key role in collecting information to gain a better understanding of traffic habits across the City of Quebec's territory. Thanks to the data collected by the Traffic Data Assistant, various decisions and orientations can be implemented by the organization.

More Specifically, You

  • Perform various tasks, in your vehicle, related to counting vehicles, pedestrians, or others, according to ongoing studies. You operate a radar, compile the collected data, and ensure its entry using the appropriate software;
  • Perform directional counting, volume inventory, parking space occupancy, pedestrian circulation, cyclists, and public transport users;
  • Inventory vehicles by class (trucks, buses, and light vehicles) and interview drivers of automobiles about their trips.

To Be Part of Our Team, You Must

  • Hold a high school diploma;
  • Be available during the week, particularly on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays;
  • Hold a valid driver's license and have access to a car;
  • Demonstrate the following qualities: sense of judgment and responsibility, autonomy, ease of communication, sense of observation, and concern for customer service.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • An hourly rate of $20.18/hour (scale 2026);
  • The schedule will be established according to needs, usually between 7 am and 10 am and between 3 pm and 6 pm, mostly during the week (mainly Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays);
