Calian is proud to maintain a long-standing contractual relationship with the Department of National Defence to provide healthcare services to the Canadian Armed Forces. Through our Healthcare Contract, Calian hires healthcare professionals who contribute to the health and well-being of our military personnel across Canada.

Position Overview

Calian is currently seeking civilian family physicians to practice at the medical clinic of the Valcartier base on part-time or full-time contracts. Responsibilities

• Assessment of physical fitness for service, including pre- and post-deployment, periodic medical examinations, recruitment medical exams, evaluations for hazardous occupations, and evaluations following injury or illness;
• Diagnosis and treatment of work- or environment-related injuries and illnesses, including rehabilitation;
• Establishment of medical employment constraints for a patient, approval or recommendation of sick leave, and assignment or recommendation of changes in the medical category in accordance with policies;
• Maintenance of occupational health records (electronic medical records and other forms of medical records);
• Provision of comprehensive primary care to patients with chronic or acute health problems, including referral to other healthcare providers, as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Active member of the College of Physicians of Quebec (CMQ)
• RCR/DEA – Level C up-to-date
