The challenges that await you
The Real Estate Transactions and Investments Office (BTII) acts as a real estate expert for various municipal services, offices, and agents. In this capacity, it assumes the following responsibilities:
- Acquire properties necessary for the projects of municipal services and offices.
- Dispose of surplus properties.
- Regularize cases of encroachments on municipal property.
- Consolidate Laval's agricultural heritage.
- Determine market values for calculating contributions for parks, playgrounds, and natural spaces required under the provisions of the Planning and Urbanism Act.
- Produce financial analyses aligned with the selected sector investment criteria, including overseeing financial modeling.
Under the authority of the division head, you will work as a certified evaluator in one and/or both fields of practice of your profession. More specifically, you will:
- Carry out, complete, and verify all necessary steps for assessing the market value of a property.
- Negotiate evaluation files.
- Write evaluation reports and act as an expert witness.
- Analyze court decisions.
- Visit properties.
- Study and analyze local market trends.
The ideal profile for us
- Member in good standing of the Ordre des évaluateurs agréés du Québec.
- Bachelor's degree in administration or equivalent.
- Six years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
