Role Overview

We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Assembly and Inventory Technician to join our Montreal team. You will be responsible for managing inventory, receiving and organizing technical components, and ensuring materials are available to support engineering, manufacturing, and laboratory activities.

As operational priorities allow, you will also assist with the mechanical assembly of components and systems, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to support production and research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory records using the ERP or inventory management system.
  • Verify part numbers, quantities, and specifications against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Organize inventory locations for efficient storage and retrieval.
  • Issue materials, tools, and components to engineering, manufacturing, and laboratory teams.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or discrepancies.
  • Track serialized equipment and maintain asset records.
  • Support shipping, receiving, packaging, and material transfers.
  • Read and interpret bills of materials (BOMs), technical drawings, and equipment documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with ESD handling procedures and proper storage requirements.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe storage areas.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Assist with the mechanical assembly of components, subassemblies, and systems.
  • Prepare production kits and stage materials for manufacturing activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to support production schedules and special projects.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, manufacturing, laboratory support, or assembly.
  • Ability to identify and understand technical components and assemblies.
  • Familiarity with ERP or inventory management systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to safely lift and move materials.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of inventory control principles, including cycle counting and FIFO.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or laboratory environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic components, mechanical hardware, fasteners, cables, connectors, sensors, and assemblies.
  • Experience reading assembly drawings, work instructions, and bills of materials.
  • Understanding of calibration records and asset tracking.
  • Experience using common hand tools and assembly equipment.

What We Offer

  • A dynamic and collaborative work environment.
  • Opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge quantum computing technologies.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits.
  • The chance to work alongside multidisciplinary engineering and research teams in a rapidly growing company.
