Materials Handler

Under the direction of the plant supervisor, the individual will primarily be responsible for assisting machine operators and loaders in meeting production and shipping requirements. This position will assist with all material handling and packaging tasks required. This position will ensure high standards of work quality and efficiency. Flexibility in scheduling is an important requirement for this position.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU? Responsibilities:

• Assist mill operators with production.
• Safely assemble pallets and boxes for our products.
• Manually transport raw materials, finished products, and packaging materials within the plant using a hand truck, forklift, or aerial crane.
• Assist with truck loading.
• Perform quality audits of the condition of goods for outgoing orders.
• Safely operate lifting devices such as counterbalance forklifts, Combi-lifts, and aerial cranes.
• Follow established safe work procedures and always wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Maintain high standards of work quality and efficiency.
• Keep the work area clean, free of dirt and debris between tasks and at the end of the day.
• Other assigned tasks.

Qualifications and Requirements

• More than 2 years of experience with forklifts required.
• Ability to work individually as well as in a team.
• Ability to operate required equipment safely and responsibly.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods.
• Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment.

Working Conditions

• Work schedule 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• Use of required personal protective equipment.
• Operation and use of necessary tools, machines, or equipment.
• Prolonged periods of standing and other physically demanding conditions.
• Lift, move, or manipulate objects up to 25 kilograms.
