Within the Resources sector, WSP supports mining clients across Canada and internationally in delivering complex, high-impact projects. Our teams offer integrated services ranging from geochemical characterization and environmental studies to advanced modeling and project management, directly contributing to responsible and sustainable mining operations.
As a Senior Geochemist based in Montreal, you will play a key role in the execution and direction of mining geochemistry projects, serving as a technical reference, mentor, and trusted partner for our clients and multidisciplinary teams.
Your Impact
- Lead and review project scopes, schedules, and budgets for mining geochemistry projects.
- Design, plan, and supervise field programs aimed at geochemical characterization of mining materials.
- Develop, calibrate, and validate geochemical and water quality models to support environmental decision-making.
- Analyze, interpret, and ensure quality control of measured and modeled data.
- Integrate geochemical results into environmental assessments, large-scale models, and acid mine drainage and metal leaching management plans.
- Mentor, train, and support junior staff to develop their technical and professional skills.
- Manage multiple projects while adhering to quality, budget, and schedule requirements.
- Maintain and develop strong client relationships while promoting a culture of health and safety.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- University degree in a relevant scientific field (geochemistry, geology, earth sciences, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental geochemistry, ideally in consulting services and/or the mining industry.
- Valid professional title in Quebec (OGQ or OIQ) or admissibility for professional recognition in Quebec.
- Demonstrated expertise in acid mine drainage, metal leaching, and geochemical evaluation of mining materials.
- Advanced experience in geochemical and water quality modeling (e.g., GoldSim, PhreeqC, MIN3P, CE-QUAL-W2, GWB).
- Excellent technical writing, communication, and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary and international teams.
- Experience in mentoring, project management, and interaction with regulatory mining processes.

- $93,700 – $124,200
- MB & ON:
- $85,500 – $117,800
- NB, NL, NS, PE & QC:
- $84,700 – $112,400
